Heather Tietz

Landscape Designer

Drawing on her background in art and museum work experience, Heather
enjoys considering hybrid artistic approaches to ecological design. She
looks forward to responding to the effects of climate change and rapid
urbanization as an innovative and equity-minded designer. Heather is
interested in the intersections of research, experiment, and digital
design of biota and abiota to enhance ecological cycles and human
health.

Heather is a recent recipient of the ASLA Merit Award of the Oregon
Chapter. Through the Decherd Award, she received research support for
her Master’s Project on design experiments with 3D printed bioreceptive
ceramic substrates. Last year, through the Laurel Award, she drew upon
her background working at art museums during an internship in
Collections at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of
Oregon.
